In September 2006, CTWT founder Maike started selling her authentic UNFUCK THE WORLD t-shirts. The message spread quickly; people from around the globe started sending pictures of themselves, proudly wearing their UTW shirt. Today, they can been seen throughout the USA and Canada, in Australia, New Zealand, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Brazil, Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa, Egypt, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain and the U.K.
Unfuck The World Day
Getting so much love from around the world, Maike decided it was time for a celebration. In 2013, in collaboration with a team of dedicated friends and supporters, she produced the first Unfuck The World Day, a global event promoting Positive Local Action, with people participating in Australia, Asia, Europe, South and North America, that has since taken place annually.
Charities
From the beginning, proceeds from Unfuck The World t-shirt and hoodie sales were donated. Over the years, Change The World T-Shirts has supported non-profit organizations like Families Forward, School On Wheels, the LALGBT Center, the NRDC and A Million Drops.
A Million Drops
Founded by Maike in November 2013, A Million Drops has been making a difference in the lives of homeless, at-risk young adults who want to take a step out of homelessness and need a helping hand to do so. Ongoing services include a free laundry voucher program, distribution of toiletries, sleeping bags and backpacks, "Unsheltered" art shows featuring works by her young clientele, as well as one on one support to individuals we work with on a regular base. From 2018 until 2020, she operated A Million Drops' Learning Center, a safe space providing a free in-house library, art supplies, computers, an edible garden, poetry and acting workshops, and more, with the goal to empower through self-improvement.
New Ownership
In January 2023, Maike handed her company over to Mudhen Merch Co. owner Johnny, who for the past eight years has been in charge of printing and shipping the authentic CTWT merchandise. He is now going to carry on, providing the excellent quality and customer service that CTWT is known for.
